The UROP program goes in the summer too. There is also the IROP program that allows you to do a summer UROP outside the United States through the MISTI program. There are also many other summer programs from the NSF REU programs, National Labs SULI program, and many others! These due dates are early in the year and summer UROP applications are in early April.
